It’s time.

It’s actually been time for quite a while now– ABM could really, really use a talented, sharp, experienced ad sales guy/gal that can crush the online space.

We’ve always run our company light and lean. For the last two years, everyone cheerfully wore multiple hats, made do with minimal administrative support or just DIY. This roll-up-your-sleeves approach served us pretty well in the bootstrapped beginnings of ABM.

Now however, with 4M+ unique monthly visitors to our websites and over 30 employees and contractors, this method has been slowing us down and frankly we’ve left opportunities on the table as a result:  100% of our direct advertising clients have sought us out, instead of the other way around. We do zero outbound sales. No promotions, marketing, outreach or solicitation. Nada… until now.

We need someone who can take over servicing our existing clients while reaching out and closing new ones. Are you the right person to help us? Do you know someone who could be the right person? Read on to find out.

Alpha Brand Media is looking for an Online Advertising Salesperson to sell ad space on our well-established portfolio of web properties with 4M/mo+ uniques.

Top sites are in the Internet Marketing, Urban/Hiphop, Fashion, Celebrity/Gossip, and Men’s Interest niches.
No territories, sharing with other reps other limitations– your commission will be based on 100% of our inventory (excluding Adsense).

Primary Responsibilities:
* Respond to inbound advertising leads.
* Generate new business utilizing outbound sales skills and techniques.
* Manage all communications with the customer and negotiate deals.
* Build relationships with key clients.
* Ensure that our clients receive the highest level of sales and operational customer service.
* Assess and compete successfully against the competition.

Skills Required:
* Advanced negotiation skills.
* Extensive knowledge of interactive advertising with regard to positioning and technology.
* Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Neutral or pleasant accent, with a courteous manner.
* Preferably US based or able to work in US time zones.

* Solid understanding of online advertising and marketing, including pricing structures.
*Available to communicate via IM/email and sometimes phone with the office at frequent intervals.

Not required but a very strong preference:
*Existing connections to relevant advertiser contacts

Salary: Base plus commission. To start, this position is best for someone who has ~15-20/hours week available. Goal is to increase base and commission commensurate with sales growth to a full-time position.

As CEO, Jenise manages Alpha Brand Media's long-term strategy while overseeing workflow performance and operations. She also manages select Alpha Brand Media ("ABM") properties and contributes content to ABM publications such as SearchEngineJournal.com.

Jenise graduated from Cal State Los Angeles (BA Sociology). In 1996 she joined Pointcast, a push technology startup where she was promoted to program manager for sponsored channels.

In 1999, Jenise joined Phone.com, a pre-IPO mobile Internet startup. After merging with Software.com in 2001, Phone.com changed its name to Openwave Systems. In 2005 she was promoted to Director, reported to the CFO and managed the Deals Desk, a sales and business ops team that manages a complex sales contracting process.

In 2007 she became CEO of Henrikson Media, a web publisher that was acquired by Alpha Brand Media in 2010.
