Google+ Custom URLs may come with a Prince in the Future [Search Engine Journal]

Kelsey Jones of search marketing news site Search Engine Journal shared on her recent post that Google+ may charge for custom URLs in the future. As posted on her latest write-up:

The second bullet states that Google+ may start charging for URLs in the future, with notice given before the fact. Google must have some faith that users will pay for a custom username; however, if a user isn’t a marketer of is just using their Google+ profile for personal reasons, they may not be so inclined.

Prior to this, a number of social networking sites already charge users for some of their features. This includes Facebook charging page owners to promote their posts to all of their fans. Nevertheless, the question remains: Will users follow social media’s freemium version?
